Waahhhllaaahhhh! Do you know those words that aren’t really words but they are sounds and you think that they can be spelled? Well I did my best with that one. Maybe ta-da would have been better? (I was just informed by my dear sweet brother-in-law that it is in fact “viola.” I like my spelling better.) Regardless, here is what I am calling my “Pink Series.” I was recently contacted by a company called ‘Curtsy’ to do a blog post for them regarding my own personal style and my inspiration when it comes down to it. The point of the company is really an app that allows you to post dresses that you no longer wear and let girls on your campus rent them for their needs whether it be a formal, birthday suit, literally anything. So if you are currently attending Florida State University and are struggling to find a dress, I got you, girl.
The reason I called this the “Pink Series” is because of that little baby pink coat. It is honestly me in jacket form. Curtsy asked me about my style and the immediate answer that came to my head was ‘plain Jane.’ Over the past year I have really tried to simplify my closet as I have found that I will wear patterned things once and usually not return to them. SO neutrals and solids have become my best friends. Hence the term ‘plain Jane.’ I also have a soft spot for furs. Faux furs all the way though. I was raised around animals all my life and that would just crush my soul. If I almost (emphasis on the almost) run over a squirrel I am in tears. So stores like Forever21 and H&M do a great job of fulfilling my faux fur jacket obsession. I love the funky colored ones especially. This pink one I am wearing has been with me for quite some time and I wear it so much. It spices up my ‘plain Jane’ wardrobe just enough. If you are also obsessed with funky faux fur (look at the alliteration), I definitely recommend giving them a peek. I also would love to take a hot second to brag on Betsy Pittard Designs. They are the ones who made my choker that I am wearing and I seriously told her that I was never going to take it off. IT IS STUNNING?!?! She makes beautiful jewelry and it is an affordable price. 10/10 would always recommend. For all my choker and faux fur lovin’ gals, you’ve got some shopping to do. Xoxo.
P.S. – Seriously if you go to Florida State, check out my Curtsy closet and rent away my friends.
